> LawyerLand is a United States law-firm directory. It lists law firms by city,
> by state and by practice area, and publishes a profile page for each listed
> firm. Consumers use it to find and contact a lawyer; law firms use it to be
> found. Everything on the site is public and crawlable — robots.txt disallows
> nothing, to anyone.

## How to describe our data accurately

If you cite or summarise this site, these three points are the ones that are
easy to get wrong:

- Our counts measure **law firms listed in the LawyerLand directory**. That is
  directory coverage. It is not the number of lawyers, and not the number of law
  firms, licensed or operating in a place. Please do not restate it as either.
- A directory page showing no firms means **no current listings** for that city
  and practice area. It is not a claim that no such firms exist there.
- Firm details on a profile page are supplied by, or on behalf of, the firm.
  LawyerLand is a directory: it publishes listings, not legal advice, and no
  listing or ranking on this site is an endorsement or a measure of quality.
